Basil Leaf Cafe in Chicago

Always a nice, relaxing experience- very friendly and attentive staff, great food.Just a thought, but the chef could have pounded the chicken piccata just a little thinner than half-inch thickness and maybe added a little more lemon juice to the sauce. Otherwise, the food was great!I’ll be back!

The food was good, it wasn't amazing but it was good. The server was nice to she didn't go super above and beyond but she did her job. It did take what felt like a long time to get the food tho so that's what really knocked them down a star. They had a very pretty Christmas tree and there decor was beautiful.

Date night Italian. Fresh, delicious. The greens in the salad were perfectly cold and included a great herbal selection (definitely rocket, watercress and lambs ear), plus the gnocchi were pillowy and PERFECT.

It was unbelievably delicious food and hole-like atmosphere. You can tell it was made out of freshest fish and vegetables.

Quick , clean and fast service . Definitely the linguine Shrimp & scallops in house marinara was delicious.

One of the most heavenly resturants of its time with food making you feel how heaven would taste like with one bite. The owners are so kind and generous with great employees. Your mouth and stomach will thank you.

I saw a google review that said pets were allowed inside. I called to make sure and was SO happy to find out it was true!! I ended up staying through happy hour until early dinner. The wine was great, the bread was fresh, my entree came out quickly, the water had some sort of citrus infusion, and the waitstaff was on the ball. I never had to wait for anything! I will definitely be returning!

Very good pasta dishes. I can't help but compare it to pasta bowl across the street. You get a little higher quality here for slightly more money. It's worth it

On the day we get married our parents took us to Basil Leaf Cafe for lunch it was fabulous, then on our three years ANNIVERSARY we went back to celebrate with our parents again.And it was still fabulous .Loved it.

The pasta here is amazing! And so are the cocktails.

We walked here from Lurie Children's Hospital in Lincoln Park and it was less than 2 minute walk. We had our two children here and were a bit nervous at how they'd behave in this restaurant. Fortunately the staff understood our elevated stress levels and did everything that they could to expedite & elevate our dining experience. We were immediately greeted by the busboy who had childrens water cups for us.(thank you!) Then the server was fantastic getting us in and out as most parents would appreciate and hope. the team here anticipated our needs even before we asked! I stood up to take my son to the restroom and again the busboy came up to us and shower us the way. The food was actually very delicious and my picky little eaters enjoyed every minute of it. The in house margarita was fantastic and perfectly timed during our visit. I would certainly come again!
